Acueducto de las Palomas

The structure consists of a single semicircular arch, with a span ranging from 4.15 to 3.20 meters and an approximate height of between 3.20 and 2.85 meters. The vault is set back, reducing its cross-section, a solution that reinforces the overall solidity. The aqueduct is approximately 6.20 meters long, nearly 30 meters wide, and has a total height of 5.50 meters. It is built entirely of limestone ashlar and is completed with stone parapets and wing walls. Following these wing walls, a small limestone bridge with a segmental arch is preserved, reinforcing the functional nature of the structure.

Located in an open and quiet section of the canal, the Acueducto de las Palomas invites visitors to stop and understand how these sober and precise works made the operation of the Canal de Castilla possible, integrating technique, water and landscape into an infrastructure designed to last.
