The Antanillas Aqueduct, built between 1753 and 1757, is part of the Canal de Castilla works in the section between Villaumbrales and Becerril de Campos. Located within the municipality of Villaumbrales (Palencia), at kilometer 91.687, its function is to allow the passage of the La Serrana stream under the canal, ensuring the continuity of the flow and the stability of the hydraulic infrastructure.
The structure is achieved through a segmental arch, a type of low arch that reduces the height without sacrificing load-bearing capacity. A key feature is that the vault is set back at the opening to decrease its cross-section. Attached to the aqueduct is a limestone footbridge with a semicircular arch, which completes the ensemble and reinforces its functional character. The aqueduct measures approximately 7.45 meters long, 30 meters wide, and 6.65 meters high, and is constructed entirely of limestone ashlar, a material commonly used in the Canal de Castilla due to its strength and durability.
