Boadilla del Camino is located in the Tierra de Campos region, in an area marked by continuous transit throughout the centuries. Two major historical communication routes define its identity: the French Way of St. James and the Castile Canal.

The Camino de Santiago crosses the town from east to west and has decisively shaped its development. Since the Middle Ages, Boadilla has been a welcoming place for pilgrims and travelers, and at the beginning of the 16th century a hospital was founded to care for those traveling the Camino route.

Among its most distinctive features is the 15th-century jurisdictional pillory, a symbol of the town’s autonomy. Beside it, the Church of Santa María de la Asunción stands as the main monumental landmark, housing a Renaissance altarpiece and works associated with the school of Berruguete.

Boadilla del Camino also maintains the character of the popular architecture of Tierra de Campos, with traditional buildings that reflect rural life linked to the territory.
