The Cigales Bridge is a road infrastructure of the Southern Branch of the Canal de Castilla located in the municipality of Cabezón (Valladolid), at kilometer 130.060. Built between 1831 and 1836, it responds to the need to ensure the crossing of the road between Cabezón and Cigales without interfering with the hydraulic functioning of the canal, integrating road traffic and maintenance of the navigable waterway at the same point.
The structure is a segmental arch, a low-profile design that allows for a lower profile and better adaptation to the terrain. The span is approximately 9 meters wide and nearly 3.90 meters high. The entire structure is about 18 meters long, with a variable width between 4.30 and 5.60 meters and a total height of 6 meters. It is built entirely of limestone ashlar and is completed with stone parapets and wing walls. At the base of the arch, ashlar platforms for the towpath are preserved, a key element for the continuity of the paths alongside the canal. The state of conservation is fair, and the entirety of the original hydraulic work remains, protected in its entirety for its heritage value.
