The Corbejones Weir is a historical infrastructure of the Campos Branch of the Castile Canal, located in the municipality of Villaumbrales, in the province of Palencia, at kilometer point 88.789. Built between 1753 and 1757, its main function was the regulation of water destined for irrigation, forming part of the complex hydraulic system that allowed the canal to be used not only as a means of transport, but also as an engine of the agricultural development of the region.
It is a square building, approximately 3.50 meters long and wide and 2.10 meters high. Originally, it had a hipped roof, topped by a brick dome with a limestone crowning element, a decorative feature that is still preserved. The walls are constructed of pressed brick, reinforced with piers at the corners, while the foundation and cornice were made of limestone, providing solidity and durability to the structure. Although its state of preservation is poor, the entire hydraulic system remains intact.
