This bridge, built between 1759 and 1804, is part of the network of works on the Northern Branch of the Castile Canal, designed to ensure the continuity of communications over the hydraulic infrastructure. Located in the municipality of Amusco (Palencia), at kilometer 72.650, its function is to allow the road to cross the canal, integrating vehicular traffic into the route without interfering with the water flow.
The structure is resolved by means of an elliptical arch, a characteristic solution of canal engineering that combines solidity with a lower profile. The arch is approximately 10.60 meters long and 4.60 meters high. The entire structure reaches a total length of about 41.60 meters, with a variable width between 4.40 and 10.70 meters and a maximum height of nearly 6.70 meters. It is built entirely of limestone ashlar and is completed with a plain impost at the base of the parapets. Lateral walkways are located beneath the bridge, providing continuity to the towpaths and ensuring the functional use of the canal. The bridge is in a good state of preservation and retains all of its original hydraulic works, which reinforces its heritage value.
