Lantadilla, on the banks of the Pisuerga River, has been documented since medieval times and has developed its urban layout in close relation to the river, which for centuries was a communication axis, an economic resource and a natural border between territories.

The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption preserves a monumental Renaissance facade, and the cultural heritage of Lantadilla is completed by its popular hermitages, the magnificent 16th-century bridge over the Pisuerga River, and excellent examples of traditional architecture and underground cellars.

The Canal de Castilla is also part of Lantadilla’s historical landscape. Nearby, the Valdegara aqueduct is preserved, a hydraulic work from the second half of the 18th century that allows us to understand how the canal adapted to the territory it traverses.
