The Sixth Locks, built between 1759 and 1804, are part of the network of structures designed to control the water flow on the Castile Canal. Their function was to allow for the evacuation or regulation of the water level through a system of sluice gates arranged in four semicircular arches, each 2 meters long and 2.10 meters high. This structure, built entirely of sandstone masonry, reaches a total height of 6 meters and is notable for the precision of its construction and the solidity of its proportions. Its design addresses the need to maintain a stable water level in the canal, preventing overflows and ensuring the safe operation of the nearby locks. The entire original hydraulic structure is still preserved, reinforcing its heritage value as a direct testament to Enlightenment engineering applied to water management.
