The Valdecornete Aqueduct is a hydraulic work of the Northern Branch of the Canal de Castilla located in the municipality of Boadilla del Camino (Palencia), at kilometer 54.980. Built between 1759 and 1804, it is part of the ambitious enlightened project that transformed the Meseta through a network of infrastructures intended for water management and the articulation of the territory.
The structure allows the canal to continue over the Valdecornete stream by means of a single semicircular arch, with an approximate span of 3.20 meters and a height of 2.30 meters. The overall dimensions are approximately 6.30 meters long, 27.75 meters wide, and 7.20 meters high. The design is completed with a plain impost at the base of the parapets and stone abutments that channel the water flow and reinforce the aqueduct’s stability. The entire structure is built of limestone masonry, a material characteristic of the Canal de Castilla due to its strength, durability, and harmonious integration with the landscape.
