Ventosa de Pisuerga

Ventosa de Pisuerga rises between the Linares stream, the Pisuerga river and the Canal de Castilla, in an environment where water and the rural landscape define its character.

Its origins date back to Roman times, linked to ancient Pisoraca, and its name appears documented for the first time in a text from the year 1164. A long past that is still perceived in the shape of the town and in its everyday landscape.

The Church of San Miguel stands out against the skyline of the village and serves as a visual landmark from the valley below. It is a Gothic church whose robust, defensive tower, topped with battlements, dominates the complex. Inside, the altarpiece of San Lorenzo, dating from the late 15th century and attributed to Juan de Borgoña, is preserved.
