Canal de Castilla

From Abarca to Capillas

What to see

This section of the Canal de Castilla, 6.7 kilometers long, connects Abarca with Capillas through a varied route across the Palencia plain. The itinerary alternates well-defined paths with more natural trails, occasionally overgrown with vegetation. From certain points onwards, the walk becomes especially pleasant as it runs through riverside trees. Despite some minor difficulties, the walk allows you to enjoy a tranquil environment representative of Tierra de Campos. This section offers a good opportunity to understand the canal’s integration into the agricultural landscape and its historical value in the region.
