From Capillas to Belmonte de Campos

This section of the Canal de Castilla, 11.1 kilometers long, connects Capillas with the fifth lock of the Campos branch, in Belmonte de Campos. The route crosses the characteristic agricultural landscape, where several locks and aqueducts follow one another, evidencing the technical complexity of the canal. Although the left bank has irregular sections with vegetation, the right bank offers a comfortable and continuous route. Along the itinerary, one can observe remains of old industrial infrastructures and dwellings associated with the canal, which allows for an understanding of its historical importance and its role in the economic development of the region.
